Since completing mandatory training, 2 team members and 2 personnel from the local Ministry of Health (MOH) Government Clinic in Mpulungu are now equipped to use the CD4 machine. This has enabled village trips to continue, offering essential HIV services to communities living in Lakeshore villages.
Working in partnership with MOH personnel in offering these services is helping to strengthen relationships with the clinic and its staff.
A local Zambian man, known and supported by our partners, has recently finished his studies to become a Registered Nurse. He is now volunteering at Mpulungu Health Clinic, hoping to be able to do his practical’s at the clinic, to complete the registration process. Once qualified he will then join the medical team, and their activities in offering HIV services. He is aware of the needs of people living in villages along the Lake and is passionate about being part of the solution.
