Much Rainfall Halted work

By William Logai Ochieng | Executive director

Awareness HIV/AIDs workshop
Awareness HIV/AIDs workshop

Heavy rainfall has lead to crop failures in Magwi county and hunger is threatening.

Thanks for your generous gift to Prevent HIV-AID through Awareness in South Sudan.

The Awareness campaign is encouraging Omilling villagers to talk freely about the virus, share information, and do voluntary testing to know their status. This is really good and we will continue pushing to raise Awareness.

The heavy rainfall has halted much of the campaign this year because the team cannot do field outreach as planned. To Omilling the road is too bad, and from September to November the outreach team can hardly get there. If the team drives they get stuck at Efo river when the water level swells higher, making it impossible to cross over. In spite of this three Awareness workshops were held with many villagers attending. The chief is organizing the villagers to repair the same bad holes, and badly demand pitches along Omilling road, which is a great relief for outreach team.

The road is usable now but not save. The outreach is resuming the campaign three times a week because it has stopped raining temporarily, and a land Rover  is suitable to drive through bad road.

In the next three months a new update will be posted, so you get to know what impact your contribution has helped to create, and other related activities.
