Dear friends,
In the remote village of Rawalbada, 47-year-old Chandraman Nepali's ( name changed) life changed in an instant. A sudden stroke left him paralyzed and unable to speak. With limited funds and a lack of medical knowledge, his family initially turned to traditional remedies, unknowingly delaying vital treatment.
When our PHASE Nepal team heard about Chandraman's condition, we immediately stepped in. We assessed his critical state and recognized the urgency. Our team coordinated with local leaders to secure funds for his transport and a referral letter for a hospital with a CT scanner. This quick action was a lifeline, connecting him to the specialized care he desperately needed.
Case Study: A Second Chance
Chandraman's story is a testament to the power of timely intervention. After being transported to the Karnali Provincial Hospital, he began his long journey to recovery. Reflecting on his experience, he shared:
“Had I received medical attention earlier, I might have recovered more quickly. But I am extremely grateful for the help that ultimately brought me hope and treatment.”
In remote areas like Humla, women often suffer in silence from treatable conditions due to a lack of accessible and sensitive healthcare. Your generous support is changing that.
Stories like Chandraman's is a direct result of your continued support. You are not just funding medical supplies; you're providing hope, dignity, and a second chance at a healthy life for individuals and communities in Nepal. Thank you for being a part of this vital work.
