The Hill Fire and Woolsey Fire have already destroyed dozens of homes and continue to spread. Ventura County Community Foundation has set up the Hill Fire/Woolsey Fire Sudden and Urgent Needs Effort Fund as a vehicle to collect the generous donations from our community.
This Fund is designed to support the immediate needs of community nonprofit organizations serving those affected by these wildfires. VCCF continues to monitor the status of these fires and is in active communication with government and public safety officials.
As we saw after the Thomas Fire, nonprofits provided extra support to our community and struggled with some of these costs. This Fund will help cover a variety of costs such as increased staff hours, replacing failing or damaged equipment, cleaning fire damage, and providing necessary emergency equipment. We have seen nonprofits have to close their doors after disasters. With this fund, we hope we can help them before it's too late.
