This program seeks to accompany 20 young people from rural areas of Argentina so that they can access higher education. We provide an economic scholarship according to what they need to cover. We also follow up periodically to support their educational trajectory, because they come from low-income families and are generally the first generation that can access university, tertiary or technical studies.
In Argentina, the incidence of poverty, the economic difficulties to move to the cities to study, the scarce tradition of higher education in their families, are major difficulties for young people. This means that those few who are able to finish high school have to enter directly into the informal labor market and cannot improve their quality of life. For this reason, at Minkai we work to give them other opportunities to improve their living conditions and those of their families.
We provide scholarships to young people from rural and low-income areas of Argentina so that they can access higher education. The scholarship provides that they can cover the material needs to study, whether it is paying rent in the city during the time they are studying, paying the monthly fee of the institution, for their books and study materials, among others. The scholarship also includes support and follow-up by professionals to help them sustain their educational path.
The project will provide access to education for 20 young people from rural areas of the province of Tucuman, Argentina. This will help lift them out of poverty through better opportunities in higher education, and therefore better employment opportunities, and be the first generation in their family to complete higher education. It will also provide new and better tools for the communities in which they live.
