In Nepal, a girl's future can depend on something as simple as a chair - a seat in school her family cannot afford. At Unatti Foundation, we make sure she never has to give that seat up. For more than 23 years, Unatti has welcomed girls born into hardship - daughters of widows, laborers, and families trapped in generational poverty. We give them more than education; we give them a home, mentorship, and the steady love that whispers, "you matter."
Educating girls transforms communities. In Nepal, each additional year of schooling can raise a girl's future income by up to 20% and reduce child marriage by 60%. Yet thousands still drop out due to poverty and stigma. When girls stay in school, they marry later, earn more, and lift their families out of poverty-creating lasting change for generations.
The Unatti Community Sponsorship Program prevents girls from being forced to leave school due to poverty or family hardship. By providing tuition, meals, and mentorship, it keeps vulnerable girls with their families and in school-breaking cycles of child labor, early marriage, and generational poverty through education and consistent care.
Since 2002, Unatti has supported 63 girls-95% have completed high school and 85% have pursued higher education. Today, Unatti alumnae are nurses, social workers, X-ray technicians, chefs, and entrepreneurs. Each girl's success proves the ripple effect of education-lifting families, strengthening communities, and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
