Hepatitis Free Project- Rashidabad

Reporting Period – October 2021 – February 2022 

Summary:
  

The Health Foundation is working in Rashidabad since 2016 and the beautiful place of Rashidabad is built by Rashid Welfare Organization (RWO) situated on the Hyderabad-Mirpurkhs Road near Tando Allahyar, over 86 acres of land. 

We have completed our work with the limited resource in UC Dhingano Bozdar and have covered a total population of 36,000. Socio-economic status: lower-income group.

Project Overview:

The Health Foundation with this project would be taking a step up the ladder towards its goal of making a significant difference in decreasing the prevalence of Hepatitis B/C. It envisions a community-based intervention, linked to a Hepatitis center at Rashidabad, which would carry out this mission for a preselected population, through its well-run and established programs integrated at one point, linking up the community and the services of the THF Hepatitis Centre. The beneficiaries, in this case, would be the community of villages in UC where Rashidabad project exists

Objective:

The Health Foundation provides free-of-cost services to non-affording patients. The Services include Hep B vaccination, Community Sensitization, Free Labs test + PCR, and Hep B & Hep C medicine.

1. Providing Awareness to 90% population

2. Immunizing 85% of the population for Hep B 

3. To "Find the Missing Millions" via screening above 17 yrs of age 

4. Free Lab diagnostic of all positive patients

5. Registering Hepatitis C positive patients who are eligible for treatment through  

Progress Review (Oct 2021 – Feb 20212) of the Financial Year (June 2021- July 2022):

HCV Treatment:

• Total Patients Registered from 2016 – Feb 2022, = 2,436
• Total Patients Treated = 2,299
• Total Patients on Going = 65
• Total patients dropped / died = 72

HBV Treatment:

• Total Patients on Going 90

Hep B Vaccination:

• Immunized 527 individuals for all 03 doses

Initiative:

• We are vaccinating all the families of Hep C and Hep B after screening.

Project Issues:

• Treatment and Laboratory Tests costs are on the higher side so regular support is required in order to provide free of cost treatment to the non-affording patients
