Pakistan is facing a Hepatitis epidemic as, according to the World Health Organization, it has the highest prevalence of Hepatitis in the world. The Hepatitis Free Community Project will be initiated in adjoining villages of Rashidabad. The Health Foundation will be implementing a holistic Hepatitis Free Community Project model in these areas, with the following 04 main components: 1. Mass Awareness, 2. Hepatitis B Catch Up Vaccination, 3. Hepatitis Screening. 4. Hepatitis Treatment.
Tando Allahyar district, where Rashidabad City is located has one of the highest prevalence of hepatitis in Pakistan, where almost 25,000 patients suffer from hepatitis and require immediate medication. The government medical facilities and infrastructure is heavily over-burdened, thereby increasing the burden on other partners and NGO's.
The Health Foundation based at its project office in Rashidabad City moves deep in the surrounding villages conducting awareness sessions and offering free screening and treatment facilities for deserving patients. The burden on these poor, underserved people is largely reduced, as they are spared the expense and effort of visiting far flung government facilities.
Lives saved. Decrease in incidence and prevalence of Hepatitis in focus high prevalence areas of Pakistan thus having an far reaching impact on overall economic status of families. Better health , better earning power!
