Caritas San Luis Potosi, Mexico, will provide financial support for 75 people with chronic kidney failure who lack social security and have limited resources. Each hemodialysis session costs $65 USD and will be performed at "Nefrologia y Dialisis San Luis" clinic. This support will give patients access to life-sustaining treatment and a chance to improve their quality of life.
Kidney failure presents when the kidneys lose the ability to filter waste from the blood efficiently. some causes of this problem are genetics, hypertension, and diabetes; when this happens it is necessary to connect the patient to a machine in the hospital to filter the blood. usually, these kinds of patients have very low quality of life, caused by the disease itself, the economic hardships, and the lack of social security to receive adequate treatment. 3 hemodialysis per week are required.
Kidney disease is a fast-progressing disease, so it is crucial to start hemodialysis as soon as possible to prolong the lives of the beneficiaries and improve their health, well-being, and also give their families tranquility and peace of mind. Caritas also supports the patients' family members, who are often responsible for their care. Due to genetic links, they may be at risk of the same disease, so they receive prevention workshops and emotional support to cope with the situation.
The project will provide 75 people with hemodialysis treatment to prolong their lives, improve their health, and contribute to the well-being of their families. Receiving support allows these people to live a normal life since many of them can THEN work and carry out their daily LIVES thanks to the treatment sessions. Your support will make a difference in the lives of entire families. Let's continue with this great humanitarian mission and join the list of creators of life!
