Guanacastle Park, located in Chiapas, is an area of 400 hectares dedicated to biodiversity conservation and water recharge in the region. The park is home to a rich biodiversity, including endangered species of flora and fauna, with trees over 600 years old. Despite its importance, it receives no funding or government support, which exacerbates the challenges of conservation and restoration, especially after the devastating fires of recent years.
This is the 3rd consecutive year that Guanacastle Park has faced a terrible fire. This time, the fire destroyed 12Ha of the hillside and devastated the habitat of endangered species. Guanacastle Park protects 400Ha of a natural reserve created in 1997 with 2,700 hectares, which has lost +1,700Ha to fire. Nowadays, the protection and restoration of Guanacastle Park are essential to conserving biodiversity. This effort requires significant resources that the park doesn't have because it lacks gove
Protecting and restoring Guanacastle Park is crucial for conserving biodiversity and securing Chiapas' water supply. As a habitat for endangered species and a source of water recharge, the park offers essential environmental benefits to reduce climate vulnerability in the region. Your support will help restore areas devastated by the fires by funding the reforestation of 52 Ha. We fight fires, but we need your help to reforest
By reforesting and protecting the Guanacastle Park, we will ensure the conservation of local flora and fauna and improve water recharge, mitigating the effects of climate change in the region. This project will also generate social and economic benefits by promoting local employment and improving the quality of life in the communities. Investing in the park today will translate into a more sustainable and resilient future for future generations.
