Challenge

Jhoana, a mother of five children, is fighting a back tumor that prevents her from standing up on her own. Without resources or an adapted home, she struggles between undergoing treatment in Medellin and providing food for her children. Her greatest distress is not having a dignified home with accessible features (ramps and grab bars) that would allow her to move and gain independence. Your help will build her accessible home and secure her family's nutrition. Transform her life today!

Solution

This project will build a dignified, accessible home (equipped with ramps and specialized access) for Jhoana's recovery from a back tumor. Additionally, it will guarantee temporary housing in Medellin and basic nutrition for her five children while she remains hospitalized receiving medical treatment. With an accessible home, food, and safe shelter, Jhoana will be able to focus on healing and regaining her independence to care for her family's future.

Long-Term Impact

Building an accessible home and supporting Jhoana's recovery will restore permanent stability to her family. Having an accessible space will grant her daily independence, while effective medical treatment will prevent her five children from losing their mother. This will relieve the young ones from serving as her primary caregivers, allowing them to return to school and enjoy a full childhood. This project breaks the cycle of extreme poverty, protects the family unit, and guarantees a safe envir
