Summary

Your donation would change the lives of the Ukrainian orphans! The project will assist 1,000 orphans to find new families. We will help orphans become visible to adoptive parents by making short and qualitative video about them. The videos will show children as they really are with their talents, joy and hope and help overcome the negative myths about orphans and change the attitude about adoption and involve new people into it. Let's speed up finding families for these children.

Challenge

Over 100,000 children are living in Ukrainian orphanages without love and only 6,000 of them can be adopted. Many conditions have been created so that children ca n't be taken out of the state care system. The social services don't search new families for the children. According to law candidates can see only documents, negative medical diagnoses and a small photo. This isn't enough to assess the situation objectively. Many adults refuse to meet because of lack information in the child's case.

Solution

The project is intended to make visible orphans from all state institutions for all who wish to give family warmth and love to these children. We visit all orphanages and create a video for every orphan. The video will show children as they really are with their talents, joy and hope. The first online meeting is much more than a few words and a photo in state database. Such videos help orphans find their way to a new home faster. We promote the videos in social media and adopters communities.

Long-Term Impact

The videos open the doors of the orphanages to society, help overcome the negative myths about orphans and change the attitude about adoption and involve new people into it. A child can grow up without the parents but a child cannot become a person without parents. 1 child dies every 3 days in orphanages of Ukraine. Only 1% of those who grow up and leave the orphanages will be able to go to college. Many won't be able to find themselves in society and society will have to defend against them.
