Update Report Mar-Jun 2022
By Piter Panjaitan | Project Leader
Dear Sponsors and Supporters
We are so happy that Bali is open for international travel once again without the need to quarantine anymore. The relaxing of these rules has made all the recent tourists very happy. The hospitality industry is improving slowly. Many are needing funds to renovate after being closed for the past two and a half years. However, there is a new hope for those who have not yet reopened their venue.
With the borders opening all over the world, Bali 2022 is so much better than Bali 2021, however this has very little impact on our Suwung Community Centre, the scavengers still have to pick up and sort the trash as usual. Our Community Centre at Suwung could not continue to operate through this difficult time without all the generosity of our sponsors and supporters. We want to send our gratitude to all of you who have been supporting us all these past few months.
We can’t thank you enough for your generosity and your kind heart. Below you can see a few updates for our Report. Feel free to share this report with your friends, family, and colleague so we can reach our target this year. Without all of your support we would not have reached our target!
- Children attending the informal school show improvement in their ability to read and write in Bahasa and English, Computer, understanding of Math, developing in Sport, Music and Creativity
- They show positive changes in their behaviour in terms of maintaining concentration in class, being respectful of teachers, a decline in aggressiveness towards other children, the ability to share with other children, to treat school property appropriately and be able to follow school rules.
- These improved skills enable them to more easily transition to mainstream schooling where their success is greatly improved in staying long term.
- It is expected that as a result of health education and free medical support the health and well–being of the beneficiaries is increase.
- By receiving donations of clothing, personal toiletry items like shampoo, toothpaste, soap etc the standard of living is improving for the beneficiaries significantly.
- We also distribute a regular 2 weeks of food supplies for the scavenger families in this difficult time which really helped them, and we also provided a meal every day for our kids who attending the centre.
- We have 55 children average attendance per week. Currently, we have 3 staff who help to reach these families and bring them to our Centre and teach and educate the children and empower the mother’s.
We are looking forward to a better future for Bali and Indonesia. Thank You Very much for your support. God Bless
Kind Regards
