Due to the impact generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the “Mi Huerta” project was implemented since July 2020, in the Socio Vivienda 2 and San Francisco sectors.

The objectives set for the project are:

- Strengthen family and community ties.

- Generate fresh food for families to help their subsistence, thus achieving savings and ensuring quality food and nutrition.

- Generate new learning for productive activities

STAGES OF THE PROJECT

- Training

- Sowing vegetables

- Harvest

1) Mothers and children attended scheduled trainings to learn sowing and harvesting techniques.

2) The project provided inputs for fifty families. Which included seeds for short-cycle vegetable crops such as: tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots and fruit trees such as: soursop and mango, whose fruits can be harvested within a year.

3) There have been several harvests of vegetables such as: tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, green pepper, which has given great joy to children and families encouraging them to continue growing.
