As of now, the Taliban is effectively controlling most of Afghanistan. More than 500,000 people from remote and rural regions fled for their lives to cities hoping for support and to avoid conflict with the Taliban. Now they have gathered in parks and open spaces or fled into the mountains with no access to food or shelter. They are in desperate need of immediate help through short term food relief and supplies.
Our goal is to help provide short-term food relief to these families by providing food essentials like vegetables and rice, and kitchen kits including various cookware for sanitary eating.
The people who have relocated, had to abandon their field and leave before they could harvest a single crop. Their savings and food from last year's harvest (diminished because of the drought Afghanistan has been suffering and the impact of Covid-19) are gone. They have nothing more than the clothes on their back and the few possessions they could carry. This project will supply food and kitchen kits for 300 families for 1 month.
