This project addresses the gap by implementing a comprehensive condom distribution and sexual health education initiative for displaced youth.
Displacement due to conflict or natural disasters disrupts access to essential health services, leaving young people especially vulnerable to sexual violence, exploitation, and high-risk behaviors. A critical yet often overlooked consequence is the lack of condoms, which increases the risk of unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as HIV and Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and unsafe abortions. The absence of this basic protective measure impacts the community at large.
The project aims to establish a comprehensive condom distribution and sexual health education initiative for displaced youth. Through strategic partnerships with local health authorities, humanitarian organizations, and community volunteers, the project will ensure consistent condom availability in displacement camps, temporary shelters, and community health centers. The intervention will be provided through youth-friendly education to empowering youth to make informed choices.
Improved public health outcomes through sustained reductions in STIs and unplanned pregnancies. Strengthened resilience and well-being of displaced communities, enabling youth to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity. Established systems for integrating condom provision into emergency preparedness and response plans, ensuring future crises do not compromise sexual and reproductive health.
