This project supports 100 low-income women farmers and producers in Turkiye's earthquake-affected region to grow local, non-GMO wheat, establish a women-run stone mill and bakery, and produce nourishing, additive-free bread and baked goods. Your donation helps women access seeds, farming support, milling and bakery equipment, food safety training, packaging, and markets. With this support, women can earn income, protect local seeds, and build fairer, more climate-resilient food systems.
In Turkiye, women are facing rising food prices, shrinking livelihood opportunities, and the growing effects of the climate crisis. Drought, unstable agricultural production, and pressure on local food systems make it harder for communities to access healthy food and for women to build secure income. At the same time, women's labor in food production often remains undervalued, even though women are essential to feeding families and sustaining communities.
This project offers a practical, women-led response. It supports women to produce clean bread and baked goods from local wheat, including Karaklck wheat. Donations help provide wheat, milling, production tools, food safety and labeling support, packaging, product development, and access to markets. With this support, women can generate income while contributing to healthier, more local, and more climate-resilient food systems.
This project will help women build sustainable income through local food production. By transforming local wheat into nourishing bread and baked goods, women will support their families, strengthen local economies, and help protect food systems under pressure from the climate crisis. Over time this project can become a model for women-led, climate-resilient, solidarity-based food production across Turkiye.
