By Jekaterina Saveljeva | Founder and Workshop Facilitator
Dear friends and supporters,
Earlier this year we finished another series of workshops with women in Donegal, Ireland once again in partnerships with Women’s Collective Ireland - Donegal, focusing on real stories highlighted by local women. Donegal is a region in Ireland that we do not see much work coming out of and thus, we are very pleased to be part of this project.
Last year, the workshop participants have created a series of capturing and thought-provoking narratives regarding; climate change and its affect on animal life, women in farming, experiences of domestic abuse or chronic diseases, childhood freedom, motherhood, lockdown emergence, loss and finally, the magic in being alive. This year the group focused on experiences of old age, and also on engaging with the wild nature through all-year swimming.
This project is important as we can see Donegal’s community as well as its local initiatives and services through a ‘gender lens’.
Check out our Instagram page for the participants’ amazing photo stories.
Thank you for supporting our cause once again!
Sincerely,
Jekaterina and the femLENS team.
