Women's stories matter today more than ever

By Jekaterina Saveljeva | Founder and Workshop Facilitator

Dear friends and supporters,

As many of us watched the situation in Afghanistan unfold, we all probably had the same thought - what will happen to the women, children and men as the pushback to fundamentalism rolls through the country.

femLENS and our community members are reaching out to those who have remained in Afghanistan in order to offer our support and professional expertise. Many cannot flee, others don't want to abandon their country, so it is our responsibility to try to help in any way we can. While access to financial resources may be one of the main needs right now, storytelling plays a vital role so that no story stays in the shadow, so we cannot say that we didin't know.

Please consider doing some research and helping out local organisations spread the word whether through translating articles or amplifying their work.

If you’re not sure who to support, please reach out and we will be happy to suggest a few local organisations.

Meanwhile, check out our latest articles part of the femLENS “skin” campaign about representation and appearence.

Thanks for being with us and for caring!

Warm wishes,

Jekaterina
