Help 250+ Vulnerable Elderly in Moldova

Neoumanist team and beneficiaries would like to thank you for your support and generosity. As a nonprofit organization one of the biggest challenge is to find funds to cover  services and activities for our beneficiaries. Every involvement it is important and essential for our beneficiaries.

During the reported period we continue to provide needy services to vulnerable seniors who have low income, poor conditions at home, suffer from loneliness and isolation.

At Neoumanist elderly can access shower, public laundry, have lunch, massage, psychological counseling and involve in socialization activities. Besides all services communication is one the most requested activity among the elderly. Personnel pay attention to every beneficiary. In the same time playing games together is a good therapy against the lack of communication, sadness and isolation. All clients are congratulated at their birthdays and often the party at the center it is the only one they have on that day.

In the last months our clients had meeting with students from faculty of Social Assistance. During this meeting students discussed with clients about their lives, their dreams, their experience. In the same time elderly share their impression about the past, present and future.

In order to be in time with new technology a group of seniors went to local library to gain new skills. They were interested in computers and phones. During several weeks ladies became students and demonstrated that is never too late to learn new skills.

The most recent activity we celebrated was International Children Day. On this day we joined the activities organized in the community. Elderly had ice-cream, fun, and smile a lot. We understood that child inside us never disappear.
