Autumn reflections

By Ecaterina Bulicanu | Project Leader

On the 1st of October Neoumanist AE, celebrate International Elderly’s Day. On this occasion we would like to congratulate all the elderly and wish them much health, prosperity and may all their dreams become true.

Traditionally on this day Neoumanist organize concerts and invite children to have a party together. Pandemic affected many aspects of the life, people become more isolated and lose the social contacts. This year we will celebrate  only with beneficiaries in order to protect them.

Within our project we tried to share hope and optimism. We support seniors in their daily activities and offer possibility to interact, to be part of active ageing, to learn new things, to integrate into community, to have a decent ageing. All these activities can be done only with the help of the people with big soul and big heart, who care for the needy and vulnerable old persons.

During the last three months 207 beneficiaries 150f and 57 m were assisted at the day care center. 22 (15f and 6m) were provided with warm lunches at home, 15 (14f and 1 m) old persons were visited three times per week by social workers and got home care services. The day care center was visited 2084 times, 3294 lunches were prepared, 2175 kg of laundry were washed, 28 persons received massage services and 1298 times the blood pressure was checked. Beneficiaries of the center were involved in clubs for interests: women club, I want to know club, handmade club, chorus.

On behalf of the beneficiaries we thank you for your constant care and help. We wish that every old person can have a beautiful ageing.
