In Kamuli District, Uganda, many children struggle to stay in school because their families cannot afford essential education costs. Compassion Bridge Initiative Uganda provides targeted support to help vulnerable children stay in school, continue their education and build a more hopeful future
Several vulnerable families in Kamuli District Uganda struggle to afford secondary school fees for their children, For students from the low-income households, the cost of Ug350000 per term can make continued education impossible. Some students who have the ability and desire to study are at risk of missing school or dropping out because their families cannot afford these costs. The project will support 20 vulnerable secondary-school students who need assistance to continue their education
Compassion Bridge Initiative Uganda will provide school fees support to 20 identified vulnerable secondary-school students in Kamuli District. Each student will receive support toward the UGX350.000 fees required each term for three terms of the academic year. CBIU will work with the students, their families and schools to ensure that the support reaches the intended students and enables them to remain enrolled and stay in school. Records will be kept and follow up will be done on all students.
Supporting vulnerable students to complete secondary education will give them greater opportunities to pursue further education, vocational training or employment and improve their ability to support themselves and their families in the future. The project will help 20 students remain in school for a full academic year while strengthening CBIU's ability to support vulnerable children thru education. Over time, continued access to education can help break cycles of poverty and create opportunity
