With your support, Empower Communities Charitable Trust's Childcare Support project helped 36 Uyghur children with childcare fees for six months since Jun 2022, allowing their mothers to undertake work or take up training courses towards employment.
In addition, ECCT found that Childcares themselves are experiencing a lack of funding. The number of parents who are unable to pay the monthly cost of childcare is increasing, and due to the economic crisis, the cost of power, gas, maintenance, and other purchases has risen significantly. Therefore, in November 2022, ECCT granted $6,300 USD to 10 Uyghur language Childcares in Istanbul to assist with costs such as carpet cleaning, wall painting, and heating system maintenance. However, this is only a fraction of the actual support that these Childcares require. With cost-of-living pressures skyrocketing in Türkiye, the demand for our childcare support has soared, and hence we need your continuous support in making empowerment and self-sufficiency a reality for these people in need.
