Please help us save orangutans from extinction by reforesting crucial orangutan habitat! We want to raise 50,000 USD to reforest at least 40 hectares of land within our Mawas Conservation Program in Central Kalimantan. In this area, an estimated 2,550 wild orangutans live under the threat of illegal logging and forest fires, both of which still occur to this day.
In the last three generations, we have lost over 80% of the Bornean orangutan population, mainly due to habitat loss. Without our help, orangutan homes will continue to be cut and burned, and our red cousins in the wild will be gone forever - starving to death or killed by forest fires and humans, who consider them a pest.
Our Mawas Conservation Program is a beacon of hope in the fight against habitat loss. It consists of 309,000 hectares of peatland and peat swamp forest and is home to the largest known wild population of orangutans.
With your kind gift, you not only create a new habitat for orangutans and many other endemic and endangered animal species. You also create local jobs, and you actively protect the climate for your children, grandchildren, and many more generations to come.
