GIRL- SUCCESS STORY
She was born in a poor family and she lost her parents due to HIV when she was young. She has four sisters but only she was born with HIV. After the death of her parents she was shifted to her maternal grandparent’s home. They lived in joint family and due to some financial conditions her aunty shifted her to OASIS for people and community , when she was 9 years old.
When her elder sister got independent in Mumbai and she wanted her to be in city with her but her financial conditions were not very strong to take care and provide for her needs as a person with HIV .Thus they were searching for Special children Care Home.
Their search brought them to “DESIRE Society” through one of our outreach workers in the community. She was admitted in Institution Care Home in city. When she was admitted in the institute she was under nourished. She badly required medical attention as she had poor health and her CD4 count was also very low. She was offered proper medication and treatment from Govt Hospital. She was ensured adequate health care and monitoring.
She was also given balanced supplementary nutrition that boosted her immunity level and helped her cope up with ART medicine (Antiretroviral Treatment).
Improvement in her health could be seen within 6 months of her joining. Now her health is improved and she is doing much better than before.
Now she is pursuing Bachelors of Accounting and Finance from private English medium college after graduation she wants to do MBA and aspires to get employed in corporate sector. She is very clear and confident about her goals in life.
