Warrick County Animal Control is located in a small rural town with a large hunting dog population. Unfortunately, this means a large portion of homeless dogs are Beagles and/or Mixes. They often have at least one stray or owner surrendered Beagle or Beagle Mixes in their facility. Recently they had FOUR Beagle and Beagle mixes and all four were heartworm positive. Thanks to Warrick Animal Guardians all four dogs received treatment in the amount of $1200. Without donations from Global Giving Partners we would not have been able to complete the heartworm treatment for all of these dogs. We do not always get enough money to treat every heartworm positive dog, especially when they get four at one time, so what can we do to increase awareness of heartworm prevention? And what steps should WAG take to increase donations to be able to treat all the dogs that need it? Thank you for helping save Cassanova, Delmar, Habanero and Obee!
