Katy was running at large after being hit by a car and took dog lovers over 24 hours to capture her. She had a huge gash on her nose, exposing bone. Even worse she was obviously very pregnant. The family called animal control to pick her up and she was rushed to the veterinary hospital.
Warrick Animal Guardians went into action to figure out how to raise the money for this dog and find her a foster home to have her puppies in a safe environment. Thanks to donations to Warrick Animal Guardians, she received pain meds, antibiotics, anti- inflammatory and radiographs. Luckily, Katy's injuries were not life threating. Now we would have to wait and see if her puppies would make it to birth.
A foster home was found and Katy gave birth a couple of weeks later to two healthy puppies...one boy and one girl. They were named Bieber and Demi. Both puppies have found their forever homes and now we are working to find Katy her home!
Survivor, named rightfully so was brought into animal control with pink staining all around her mouth, with vomiting and diarrhea. She was also rushed to the veterinary hospital and Warrick Animal Guardians stepped up to help this sweet puppy. The prognosis was poor as she most likely had Parvo. WAG found a foster home with one of our seasoned vet tech fosters. Luckily, Survivor made it through this disease that so often kills. She has also since found a loving home.
Both of these situations could have ended poorly for these dogs. But because of the donations received from donors like you we can continue to provide preventative health care, emergency medicine and lifesaving treatments to animals that need them!
Thank you for helping us continue to save lives!
