Warrick Animal Guardians is often called on to assist Animal Control to help stray cats in our community. There are so many stray cats across the country and Warrick County is no different. Often times they are in need of some type of medical care that can vary from basic vaccinations and spay or neuter surgery to complete bloodwork and other issues that require much more care and money. The ones that require more usually have to go to a foster home for a longer than normal stay. Warrick Animal Guardians (WAG) provides the food, litter and any other supplies one might need.
Margot is one such cat that required far more than the normal! However, she was one of the lucky ones that will be given a second chance at finding a home to live the rest of her life.
Margot a friendly, oddly unique gal was found living outside. She seemed to have shorter than normal front legs and a bobbed tail. She just likes to crouch down and it can make her look like a Munchkin, but she is not. She is all Black making her a little harder to place and sadly the next strike was she was at least 5-8 years old. However, the people that found her offered to foster her IF we could raise the money to get her looked at by a veterinarian. So off to the vet to get an exam. Margot was estimated to be at least 10 years old, needed a dental cleaning and extractions, has a mass that need to be removed and a urinary tract infection. The appointments were made to schedule her surgeries. We were able to raise the money to get everything paid in full. She has had her surgeries and taking her medications like a champ. She still has to wear a cone and will be placed up for adoption in a few weeks.
Without people like you to donate money to help save these animals many more would be euthanized. We are very thankful for each and every person that donates no matter how small. Every dollar counts. Thank you!
