Warrick Animal Guardians is relied upon by Warrick County Animal Control for help in providing care for animals in criminal cases often. Actually about 95% of the time as animal control has zero funding for medical needs of animals.
Recently two separate cases of abandonment happened and of course all the animals required medical care.
The first cases was three cats Ayla, Adela and Rea being left behind in an apartment when the owners moved out. Sadly one was pregnant and about to give birth any day. With the help of the local police department animal control was able to impound all three cats. They all needed help. The first cat Ayla needed a foster home as she gave birth during her impoundment. The other two required spaying and of course vaccinations, flea meds and dewormer before we could find them homes. Luckily, Warrick Animal Guardians was there to provide the funding for all of the medical needs. A foster home was also found for Ayla.
The second cases involved two other cats Blackie and Thomas that were left behind at the owners mothers home without a long term plan. The mother was entering a nursing home and her daughter never showed up to take her animals back after a short stay at a local jail. These two cats were flea infested and scared. They also required vaccinations, flea meds and dewormer before being placed.
Warrick Animal Guardians has provided so much for the animals at Warrick County Animal Control because of the on going support from the generous donation by Global Giving supporters. We have effectively reduced the euthanasia rate of these animals and been able to give so many of them a second chance at a new life thanks to you!
