Warrick Animal Guardians primary mission is to assist Warrick County Animal Control raise funds to help the animals. Normally that means some bags of food, vaccinations or vet care. However, it also means funding criminal cases and unfortunately in todays society many more cases are being investigated and prosecuted. One such situation that is more common in todays society is people opting to leave their animals behind when they move. Recently, Animal Control was called in to help several animals that had been left behind. Of course WCAC got the abandoned pets but they required more than average veterinary care that they had no budget. Another issue that abandonment causes is building a case and keeping animals for longer than normal to ensure the health and proof required for a court case. Sadly, cats are often left behind and J, M, and Z (names withheld due to open criminal case) found themselves in this situation. Owners leave animals behind outside and often locked inside of a dwelling. The pets had been locked in an abandoned apartment for several days and when the apartment complex went in to clean they found the three cats without food, water and dirty litter-boxes. Thankfully, they called Warrick County Animal Control who was able to rely on Warrick Animal Guardians to provide the funding for much needed veterinary care and special diets. Due to contagious disease and the fact that the animals had to be held for a specific amount of time they had to be isolated in a make shift quarantine area for weeks versus the normal less than a week hold period. After they had completed quarantine/passed, received the medical care and improved in health they were all three able to be placed and on their ways to new homes. Thankfully Warrick Animal Guardians continues to help in ways we never thought of in the beginning. Its a huge accomplishment to help assist the over 900 animals coming into a poorly funded animal control in a small rural community. WAG relies on your donation more than ever to assist in ANY situation! Thank you for your continued support!

Helping Neglected Pups at a second chance at life!

Kojak Before
Warrick Animal Guardians is called in on a daily basis to provide medical care for animals entering Warrick County Animal Control. Many times the animals are not in good shape and a partial litter of Pitbull puppies were no exception recently. Animal control has received complaints that some puppies were very thin, covered in fleas and running loose. We tried working with the family and getting the pups meidcal care but they refused and they impounded the puppies.
Warrick Animal Guardians was called upon to provide dewormer, vaccinations, flea and tick control and anitbiotics for several wounds. The puppies also needed to be neutered before they could find new homes and get the chance at a loving home. Without WAG providing the medical needs the puppies would have died or been euthanized. Happily ALL three of the puppies are happy, healhty and in loving homes! Without your donations WAG could not be an asset to the community, the animals or people it has helped over the years. Thank you for your continued support!

Donations help animals like Mia, Little Guy and Charlotte.

Mia upon intake
Warrick Animal Guardians continues to help animals at Warrick County Animal Control. Many of the animals come to them in poor condition or they have not lived the best life. The animals often experience bad or negative experiences with humans that never provided much needed medical care, socialization and/or proper diets. When an animal enters Warrick County Animal Control they are provided these things BUT only because Warrick Animal Guardians has stepped in to provide the funding and donations required by the animals. IF it wasn't for WAG the animals would not get the chance at a healthy life to be adopted or rescued.
Your donations help these animals we are all fighting for every day!
Dogs like Mia who were running loose and out of control according to her owner. He wasn't able to get her to come to him for two weeks. Probably because he often beat her for not listening and running off. Mia had double ear infections, afraid to be touched and severe heartworm infection. It took her a week to even lift her tail and almsot two before she would wag it. She is still fearful of most people but not aggressive. She deserves a chance to live a life free of abuse.
Cats like Little Guy and Charlotte. Their owner was put into a mental health facility and wasn't taking care of them lately. Little Guy a Persian is 14 years old and Charlotte an American Curl is 12 years old. Both were covered in fleas with grade four peridontal disease. Most of their teeth will need to be extracted. Charlotte was covered in several mattes and sores. Luckily, WCAC has a rescue interested in saving these two IF expenses are covered for the medical needed. Thankfully WAG is able to do just that because of donations from you!
If we didn't receive donations from people like you animals like Mia, Little Guy and Charlotte would have no options and would be euthanized. WAG and WCAC thanks you for your caring and continued support!
