Summary: Childhood cancer is curable, but not preventable, and an it's an unexpected visitor! We need your support to save children with cancer in Venezuela by providing access to evaluations and treatments throughout their journey towards remission. In Venezuela, families must cover the cost of evaluations and procedures that the Unified Public Health System does not provide. The low income of the population and the high cost of treating the disease demand action and solidarity. Support
Cancer is the second leading cause of child mortality in Venezuela. The goal is to improve survival rates from 20% to 60%, approaching the 80% seen in high-income countries. This requires enhancing early diagnosis, timely treatment, and follow-up, while addressing public health system gaps. Key challenges include ensuring early detection, treatment adherence, and follow-up amid socioeconomic crises, relapses, and treatment dropouts.
To ensure timely access to evaluations and treatments for children referred by Pediatric Hemato-Oncology units, covering costs families cannot afford. Support medical teams who fight alongside children and families, providing hope and care. Strengthen a transparent network of donors and allies to secure resources for patients, clearing paths to recovery. The program serves 130 children annually, aiming to increase by 20% and contribute to raising Venezuela's childhood cancer survival rate to 60%
