The World Risk Report for 2023 has ranked Philippines as the number one country that has that highest risk for disasters in the world. The World RiskIndex 2023 assesses the disaster risk for 193 countries.
This means that disasters are always given and it is just a matter of when they would happen. Because of this, we are thankful that you have been supporting our appeal to respond to the next emergency.
Since we started this initiative, we have already responded to two emergencies in the Philippines this year:
* Mayon Volcano eruption in June. Mayon Volcano is an active volcano found in the Bicol region and known for its perfect cone.
* Typhoon Doksuri. A super typhoon that hit the Philippines in July that caused severe damage in Northern Luzon Philippines
Because of your donation which we combined with other donors, we were able to send our Humanitarian Reponse Team to do a rapid assessment and immediate relief response in these areas and reach hundreds of families.
Before 2023 ends, the Philippines expects to be hit with about four more typhoons and with your continuing support, we can always be ready to respond to the next emergency.
Thank you very mucg for your support!
