Please spare a few minutes of your time and READ below to know how you can bring happiness to the lives of children without hope.
I lost my brother-in-law to HIV Aids. My family knew he was sick but were unaware that he had HIV Aids. The fear of being ostracized by society for having HIV was a far greater concern for him than his health. Shortly after his death, my sister was diagnosed with the same disease. I then asked myself, what happens to children who are left as orphans when their parents die under these and other circumstances? What about disabled, deformed and needy children who are often left uneducated because there is no facility to take care of them? I then decided I needed to do something about this situation.
I believe that one does not need to be rich to do something to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged children. Again, we do not have to know people to lend a hand of support to them; and though we may not be able to help hundreds of children but we certainly can help a few.
Over the past few years, a land has been purchased and construction has begun for a 50 capacity building for orphans of my hometown of Dormaa Ahenkro in Ghana, Africa. The building structure was roofed in 2013. Window frames and doors have been provided and fixed. First phase of electrical wiring is complete and the initial plumbing works are in progress.
To ensure that people who believe in this cause can contribute to help, and also demand accountability of how resources given are used, an organization has been formed and incorporated-‘Dormaa Children’s Home Inc’. It has been registered with the IRS as 501(C) non-profit organization with full tax- exemption status. The organization has reputable board of directors (who are not paid). You may check our website to see information of board of directors.
The organization’s task for 2014 is to plaster and cast the floor of the whole building, and we cannot do it alone without your help. The estimated amount of money needed to complete this work is $ 11,000
To help us complete this task, you can click on the donation button and indicate any amount you would like to donate to help our cause. All donations in USA are tax deductible. No donation amount is too small: $10, $20, $50, $100, $200, etc will go a long way to help.
