Help us keep fighting for the Amazon! We're an NGO working to protect the rainforest and, just like millions of others around the world, COVID-19 has been a major disruption. The funding we rely on has been hit particularly hard, putting at risk our ability to continue to conduct research for science-based conservation, to plant trees to recover the rainforest, and to provide high-quality environmental education to our region's kids. Can we count on your support to help us keep going?
The economic fallout from COVID-19 is challenging the world right now, hitting us as well through impacts on our usual funding sources. If we are unable to make up the for the loss, we'd no longer be able to conduct the research needed to do science-based conservation, plant trees to keep the rainforest growing back after massive fires, or continue to provide high-quality environmental education to our local kids, the next generation of Amazonian environmental leaders.
One solution to our dilemma is simple, your support. Your contribution will fund our long-term research, reforestation, and education projects that seek to understand the causes of the loss of the Amazon and how to reverse it, as well as how to make local agricultural practices and other livelihoods work for both people and the forest. It's a difficult time to be asking we know, but the Amazon is under threat and all this important work needs funding to continue.
All donations will go directly to our long-term projects, which are designed to make lasting change and must keep going. Our biological research is showing the impact of human activity and how we can protect species. Our agroforestry research is providing our local community with models of a better way to feed people while protecting the forest for future generations. And educating children about the importance of biodiversity will pay off in the long run when it's their turn to take charge.
