Support the Helen Bamber Foundation today to help us keep refugees, society's most vulnerable people, safe this Christmas.
For many, the festive season is a time of celebration with family and friends, but for the refugees we support, Christmas can be a time of loneliness, homelessness and destitution. The men, women and families we support have suffered extreme exploitation and abuse; their suffering is compounded by inadequate and clinically unsuitable housing, threats of homelessness and welfare support far below the minimum standard of living.
The Welfare and Housing team at the Helen Bamber Foundation help refugees who are experiencing crisis by appealing to the council / Home Office for appropriate housing, liaising with benefit providers to reinstate welfare support and in emergency situations, securing urgent accommodation through refugee hosting charities and additional support though community based welfare support organisations including food banks and destitution services.
Combined with our specialist legal, medical, and therapeutic services, we support the complex needs and vulnerabilities of survivors to help them achieve sustained recovery and lead successful lives in the UK.
