Help Us Fight Hunger Across America

by Move For Hunger Vetted since 2011 Project of the Month

Move For Hunger works with relocation companies to support our communities' food banks. One in 8 Americans struggle to find their next meal, while 1 in 8 relocate each year. Move For Hunger has a huge opportunity to provide relief to those most desperate for our help. While some problems demand complex solutions, tackling our nation's hunger problem relies on one simple equation: Get excess food to those who need it. Please join us in fighting hunger nationwide.

More than 42 million Americans, including 13 million children, rely on emergency food assistance. Each year approximately 40 million Americans relocate. When people move, they throw away "stuff." Unfortunately, a lot of this "stuff" is food that could be delivered to a family in need rather than thrown away. By teaming up with moving companies, real estate agents, and relocation professionals across the country, Move For Hunger provides relief for hungry Americans in need.

We have created a national network of relocation companies working to alleviate hunger in their local communities. Our movers offer to pick up unwanted non-perishable food items from their customers on moving day and deliver it to their local food bank.

Long-Term Impact

We currently work with over 900 moving companies across the United States & Canada and have collected more than 11,500,000 lbs of food (more than 9 million meals). This project will enable us to expand to 1,000 relocation companies in all 50 states and collect over 3,000,000 lbs of food annually.
