Dear Friend,

Thanks to the support of donors like you, Khana Ghar, one of our projects had 72 days of food deliveries in the previous quarter! This means 1800 elderly people and 3000 children received hot, delicious, and nutritious meals six days a week! This project relies entirely on donor support to stay up and running, and we are very grateful for your support that allows this project to continue.

We love sharing stories of the beneficiaries and how you have been making a positive impact on the Goa slum community. Recently, while delivering food to a slum located next to Margao railway station, our team encountered an elderly woman cooking on the ground. She told the team that she was cooking Brinjal which she collected from the vegetable market that was discarded as she had nothing else to cook. We inquired about her work, she said she sells toys by moving around but most of the time nobody buys them and also she admitted that she is not strong enough to move around further she also added that her husband is handicapped and he sits on the railway platform to beg.

When the team told her that they had brought her delicious hot meals, she was overjoyed and said, God bless you all, God bless you all my son, when we are starving with hunger and you’ll appear to us to help and give a hope. Now every afternoon she and her husband come to collect the food packets. The elderly woman says that “since the day you met us and until the date we never slept with an empty stomach. A story like this illustrates how important the work El Shaddai and the team does for the people of the Goa Slum community.

Because of widespread poverty, unemployment, and rising food costs due to inflation, we see people in Goa living in slums, sick people and children dwelling on pavements and families who has no income finding it hard to get at least one meal for a day. There are plenty of children, old and sick people begging at the Bus Station and Railway Station, in front of temples and mosques with empty stomachs. We also observe that children are malnourished and at risk of malnutrition.

El Shaddai ensures the neglected/destitute are happy for this kind of help and able to eat food on time. They stay healthy and enjoy a warm, nutritious, tasty meal. The team wants to give this experience to as many children and families in the slums located in North and South Goa as they possibly can.

With your continued support, the Khana Ghar can remain operational and bring meals, nutrition, and smiles to children and families in need.

Dear Friend,

El Shaddai runs "Meals on Wheels" feeding program to feed the daily wage workers, migrant labourers, marginalized families, and needy people on the street and in slums in the major cities of North and South Goa.

The project serves cooked nutritious meals to the needy every day in the major cities of Goa. As per the survey social workers has identified many of the destitute and homeless people and children. Every day these children are suffering from starvation, malnutrition, no shelter, found sleeping on the roads, footpaths, bus stations, railway stations, parks, and community halls in the major cities Goa. Our main goal towards humanity is no one should sleep with an empty stomach under our zero-hunger initiative.

As per the outreach workers report, many of these children and people relocate from one place to another as they don’t have proper houses, living in hurts, or with tarpaulin roofs for the night shelter. By seeing the need, we decided to serve a nutritious diet. Seeing these critical environments, we chose to feed at least 700 people every day including street children. We are feeding 500 children in each of our centers every day. We serve them nutritious meal which includes steamed cooked rice, pickle, mixed vegetable curry, and boiled eggs. We want to feed more people on daily basis. The nutritious meals that we have served, have made them look healthy and they are very pleased for being the pillar in their time of hardships. We thank all the donors and supporters who have extended their hands to carry this great work in serving humanity because of your support there is an almost 10% increase in the number of people and children that we can cater to every day.

Dear Patrons,

A warm welcome to our latest report on feeding Initiative. We hope you enjoy reading the same

The Covid-19 Pandemic had an immense impact on the world’s poor. There is virtually no aspect of livelihood and employment that COVID-19 has not interfered with. The pandemic disrupted every area of the healthcare system worldwide and has had a particularly devastating impact on women and children.

El Shaddai has started distributing mid-day meals from April 2022 to children from marginalized communities and through the valuable support of sponsors and well- wishers we have been able to distribute 19,444 meals to the children. The community workers of El Shaddai work tirelessly to distribute these meals at the El Shaddai Shelters and Slum areas. Every day these meals are distributed to 500 children from various places in Goa such as Panjim, Calangute, Margao and Vasco. It costs us Rs. 45/- per meal and we want to be able to distribute more such meals to the children and we look forward to the continued support of well-wishers and sponsors in achieving our mission to end malnutrition and hunger.

We also have the ongoing ‘meals on wheels’ distribution called “Manna Khanna” which provides meals to people from poor communities. The worst affected and still are being affected is none other than those living in poverty. Every day our community worker distributes fresh and hot home cooked meals, which are neatly packed in parcels. Till date we have been able to provide manna meals to 67,9015 people in the state of Goa.

We aim to reach out to more and more people and with your help and donations, we will be able to do so.

Our end goal with this report is a push toward compassionate, thoughtful action that recognizes we are part of a global community. Covid-19 is still an ongoing Pandemic and El Shaddai will continue to help all those who are affected. It is in our hands to close the gap between the “Have’s” and “Have’s not”.

Through this project we will be able to curb malnutrition, starvation, and help in improving quality of life.

Our work towards this project would not be possible without the help and support of your donations. So we take the opportunity to thank you for your kind contributions in making this possible.

Thanking you

regards,

El Shaddai Charitable Trust

Respected Friend,

We thank you for the support that you've continuously shown us and it is our delight that we are writing this report to show the work that we are doing. This report is going to cover the progress made for September, October and November. Every day we feed more than 200 laborers, street children and marginalized workers in various parts of Goa, therefore for the last three months we managed to feed more than 10,000 people.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, a lot of people are experiencing acute food insecurity and India is not spared. The situation has deteriorated with a notable increase in the proportion of the population in crisis especially vulnerable families like the ones relying on El Shaddai’s support.

El Shaddai is responding to this situation by undertaking the Covid 19 food Relief Work for the community which is hard hit by the pandemic. Also, it is implementing measures to protect its staff who are undertaking the implementation of the relief work.

El Shaddai further seeks for more assistance in order to be able to reach out to even more children as your support encourages these vulnerable children with hope for the future. With more support, we believe we can change more lives.

All thanks goes to you and to all our supporters without whom this success would not have been possible. We hope that you will continue your generous support to our project.

Take care

Regard

El Shaddai Charitable Trust
