Dear Patron,
Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust and wishing you and your family a prosperous New Year.
Hunger remains a significant challenge in India, impacting millions of lives. Hunger especially among underprivileged children is a pressing issue that affects their health, education, and overall development.
Many underprivileged children suffer from malnutrition, leading to stunted growth and developmental issues. Hunger increases vulnerability to diseases and infections, as a lack of proper nutrition weakens the immune system. Insufficient nutrients can impair cognitive function, affecting learning and academic performance.
We at El Shaddai are continuously working towards the motto, “Zero Hunger” where no child or individual will ever go to sleep hungry. It’s been 26 years that El Shaddai along with the continuous support from well-wishers, donors and supporters like you, we have been able to feed 500 children and 700 Individuals every day.
Addressing hunger among underprivileged children is crucial for fostering a healthier and more educated future generation. By understanding the underlying causes and supporting initiatives that provide nourishment, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives. By working together, we can create a future where everyone has access to sufficient food.
We have beautiful heartwarming story of a boy named Rakesh (name changed). His family struggled to make ends meet, and often, the only meal they could afford was a meager bowl of rice. It was very difficult for a family of six to survive on this meal. He then decided to resort to begging on the streets of a city in Goa. A team of El Shaddai found him in a very poor condition and asked him his whereabouts. They took this little boy to one of our day care shelters and gave him warm home cooked meal. For the first time in weeks, he felt a sense of fullness and contentment. He is now enrolled in the Day care shelter for the mid-day meal program and also school. He is a happy and a contented child with a hope in his heart and a smile on his face.
It is rightfully said “Small acts of kindness can fill empty stomachs and warm hearts."
We aim to reach out to more and more children and individuals and we express our heartfelt gratitude for aiding us in our mission in transforming lives.
With Gratitude,
Sincerely
