Title: New Eye Ward & Operation Theater Completed at Alkhidmat Hospital Chitral
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation is pleased to announce the completion of a dedicated Eye Ward and Operation Theater at Alkhidmat Hospital, Lower Chitral, which has been serving the community since 2022. This facility will provide specialized treatment for eye diseases and surgeries, ensuring that people in this remote region can access quality eye care close to home.
Story / Update
Since its establishment in 2022, Alkhidmat Hospital Lower Chitral has been a beacon of hope for thousands of families in the region, offering affordable and accessible healthcare. Recognizing the high prevalence of eye-related issues—especially cataracts and vision impairment among the elderly—Alkhidmat has now established a dedicated Eye Ward and fully equipped Operation Theater.
This facility will allow patients to receive proper diagnosis, treatment, and surgeries without having to travel long distances to major cities. For many in remote villages of Chitral, this means timely care, reduced costs, and restored vision that directly improves their quality of life.
Beneficiaries
Direct Impact: Hundreds of patients in Lower Chitral needing eye treatment and surgeries.
Target Group: Elderly patients, women, and children suffering from preventable or treatable eye conditions.
Impact
Improved access to specialized eye care in a remote region.
Reduction in avoidable blindness and vision impairment.
Enhanced quality of life for patients through restored eyesight.
Next Steps
Alkhidmat aims to strengthen the Eye Ward with advanced equipment and conduct free eye camps in surrounding areas, ensuring that even the most vulnerable patients benefit from this new facility.
