Title: Construction of Eye Building Underway at AKF Hospital, Chitral
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation has initiated the construction of a dedicated Eye Building at AKF Hospital, Chitral, aimed at strengthening eye care and ophthalmology services in the region. Once completed, the facility will improve access to specialized eye treatment for patients from Chitral and surrounding remote areas.
This project is part of Alkhidmat’s ongoing commitment to expanding quality healthcare infrastructure in underserved regions of Pakistan.
Story / Update
Residents of Chitral and nearby mountainous communities often face serious challenges in accessing specialized eye care. Long travel distances, limited facilities, and a shortage of trained specialists make timely treatment difficult—leading to preventable vision loss.
To address this critical gap, Alkhidmat Foundation has begun the construction of a dedicated Eye Building at AKF Hospital, Chitral. The new facility will be designed to support outpatient consultations, diagnostic services, and eye surgeries, enabling early detection and effective treatment of eye diseases.
Although currently under construction, the project represents a significant step toward improving eye health services in the region. Once operational, it will reduce the burden on patients who otherwise must travel far for specialized care.
