Construction of the Alkhidmat Eye Hospital in Chitral is progressing steadily and has now reached 89% completion. Once operational, the hospital will provide specialized eye care services to thousands of people in Chitral and surrounding remote mountainous regions.
Story / Update
Access to specialized eye care remains a significant challenge in remote areas of northern Pakistan, where patients often have to travel long distances to receive diagnosis, treatment, and eye surgeries. This delay in treatment can lead to preventable vision loss and reduced quality of life.
To address this critical healthcare need, Alkhidmat Foundation is constructing a dedicated Eye Hospital in Chitral. The project has now achieved 89% completion, bringing the community one step closer to accessing modern and affordable eye care services locally.
Upon completion, the hospital will offer comprehensive eye health services, including eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, cataract surgeries, vision screening, and preventive eye care programs. The facility will significantly reduce the burden on patients who currently travel to distant cities for treatment.
The hospital is expected to serve thousands of individuals annually, particularly benefiting low-income families living in remote and underserved communities across Chitral and neighboring districts.
