Our project to build a Hub of Hope in Kakuma is progressing steadily, thanks to the generous support of donors and the hard work of our local team. The Hub aims to be a safe, inclusive space where refugees can access education and employment opportunities for the refugees
So far, we have secured land for the Hub and cleared the area in preparation for construction. With initial funds, we’ve begun laying the foundation and sourcing local materials to support the community economy. The design includes classrooms and laptops
Community engagement has been strong. Local youth have volunteered in site preparation, and women’s groups have helped shape the services the Hub will offer. We’ve also started pilot sessions under temporary shelters, including art therapy workshops and literacy classes.
While challenges such as funding gaps and logistics persist, our team remains committed. We are actively seeking more support to complete construction and fully launch programs. The vision of a thriving, resilient community space in Kakuma is coming to life step by step.
