Leukaemia crept into Sheenagh’s life disguised as a tummy ache.
From that moment, nothing was the same. Sheenagh and her mam were in the hospital, while her two brothers stayed with their Grandparents.
Their family was thrust into this world of therapy and treatments that make children really unwell in order to help them get better. Sheenagh lost the strength to walk. She developed sepsis.
Then, because of your help Barretstown was there for them all!
Their first visit to Barretstown was a turning point. Arthur and Tadhg could just be boys again. Sheenagh met little friends like her. Everyone understood.
“To Arthur, you gave horse riding, courage, and smiles…
To Tadhg, you gave ropes adventure, new worlds, and trust…
To Sheenagh, you gave friendship, joy, and confidence.”
“Most of all, to my family you gave the gift of precious time andhealing… thank you.” - Catherine - Sheenagh’s Mum.
Thank you so much for your support of Barretstown and for making the magic of Barretstown possible for children like Sheenagh.
Best Wishes,
The Barretstown Team.
