Give Seriously ill Children their Childhood Back

As one of our valued donors, we want to share an update from Barretstown Camp with you.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Barretstown team had to make the very difficult decision to postpone our residential camps. But, we are determined to keep the Barretstown magic alive.

Our Barretstown families are amongst the most vulnerable in society and even more isolated than usual by Covid-19. To ensure we can continue to support our Barretstown families during this hard time we have created our new Barretstown Live programmes.

These programmes will be delivered every Saturday to families who were due to come to camp in Barretstown and will continue to run for the foreseeable future. In advance of participating in these programmes, families will receive a ‘Barretstown Live’ kit which will contain everything they need to participate.

We have also extended our hospitals' programme to bring some Barretstown magic to the children who are feeling the effects of COVID-19 restriction on visitors even more so than ever before. With playrooms closed and tighter restrictions around hospital movement, these children have been in desperate need for some serious play, which is exactly what our outreach team have been able to facilitate through the Barretstown Live initiative.

Covid-19 restrictions, mean our campers need Barretstown’s therapeutic programmes now more than ever. We would like to thank you for your support, because without it, our new programmes would not be possible.
