Anushka was a Muwakhat Foundation volunteer who took part in many events to spread the message of Muwakhat. She is also project leader at GlobalGiving.
Anushka was an aspiring student who wanted to go to university. GlobalGiving gave her permission to use funds from the Muwakhat Foundation for her professional education.
With the support of GlobalGiving and the Muwakhat Foundation, Anushka is majoring in Civil Engineering, which is very difficult in Pakistan for women.
Anushka feels empowered and is also paying back to the community. She teaches kids to help pass on the knowledge and support she has felt from the Muwakhat Foundation.
Anushka sincerely thanks the platform and has one year left of her professional education. She will again give an update on her education once she graduates. She aims to stay empowered and help women around her as well.

Help 10,000 COVID-19 Affected Families
By Anushka Jamal | project leader

The Pakistani government imposed a full lockdown in March 2020 due to COVID-19.
This hit the daily wage basis earning households the most. They cannot sit at home during the pandemic and they put their lives in danger by going outside, earning, and bringing bread for their families.
Muwakhat Foundation is one of the charity institutions helping these families from the very first day of lockdown. Muwakhat foundation provided food, cooked meal, dry ration, and safety tool kits to these families and also gave cash to meet day to day expenses of the household.
Now, Muwakhat is going to support 10,000 by giving food, school fees, cash, and free health camps. Muwakhat will also help them start their own small business for lasting prosperity and sustainability.
Let's join together to help our brothers and sisters. It is our responsibility to pay back to our community.

Help Girls Continue Their Education

Muwakhat Foundation saved Kainat's year of education by paying her due fees.
Kainat studies in a government college in Lahore, Pakistan. She was unable to pay her fees due to which the college was not allowing her to sit for her exams. She could not pay her recent fees' because her father got tested positive for COVID-19 and was unable to go to work but even before that he had lost his job due to the pandemic and the strict lockdown. He was an auto-rickshaw driver. He could not find any rides due to the lockdown, so he had to temporarily quit his job. Later on, he sold his autorickshaw. Now they have no means of earning. Also, there were no other arrangements to help Kainat. Kainat has only her father. If she had not paid her fees, then she would have lost a year of college and had to repeat again. After Muwakhat Foundation paid her fees, she was given permission to sit for the exams. Her father is still struggling to find work so Muwakhat Foundation plans to further fund Kainat's education if need be.
Muwakhat Foundation aims to support 10,000 families. Many children are dropouts or are just waiting to go to school for once. Parents are unable to fund their children's study. Many parents keep their girls at home as it is expensive to teach them. Muwakhat Foundation aims to support these children and help them study further. Muwakhat Foundation is a strong supporter of education and wants to help these children continue their education without the fear of dropping out.
Muwakhat believes that when you educate a girl, you build a better future for your country.
