Project Report
Project Title: Help 3,800 Vulnerable Kids in Nigeria
Organization: Life Aglow For Children Foundation
---
1. Introduction
We appreciate the opportunity to share an update on our project, Help 3,800 Vulnerable Kids in Nigeria. Although we have not yet received funds through GlobalGiving, our commitment to these children remains strong, and we have taken several preparatory steps to ensure immediate implementation once resources become available.
---
2. Activities Carried Out So Far
Despite limited resources, our team has continued to work within the communities to lay the foundation for the project:
Community Needs Assessment: We visited flood-affected communities to identify the most vulnerable children and document their needs (food, school support, clothing, hygiene items).
Beneficiary Identification: We created a preliminary list of the first 1,200 children to be supported once funds arrive.
Partnership Engagement: We engaged community leaders, mothers, teachers, and caregivers to ensure smooth coordination when distributions begin.
Preliminary Awareness: We conducted sensitization in some communities about upcoming child-support programs.
---
3. Challenges
No Funds Received Yet: At this stage, we have not yet received donations on GlobalGiving, which has delayed the full rollout of food distribution, school materials support, and health/hygiene kits.
High Number of Affected Children: The needs on the ground are overwhelming, and the communities are anxiously waiting for support.
Rising Costs: Inflation has made essential supplies more expensive, increasing the urgency for support.
---
4. Our Readiness
Once funds are received, our team is fully prepared to begin immediate implementation, including:
Procurement of food and educational supplies
Mobilization of volunteers
Distribution to mapped communities
Monitoring and documentation for a follow-up report
---
5. Appreciation
We extend our gratitude to potential donors and the GlobalGiving team. Even though funds have not yet come in, we remain hopeful and committed to ensuring that 3,800 vulnerable children affected by flooding will receive the support they desperately need.
