As the nation grapples to contain the spread of the infection, the pandemic has costed thousands of lives and has forced millions of vulnerable people into poverty. This project will help provide relief measures to the urban and rural vulnerable families from preventing them from being victims of hunger and malnutrition and also from preventing the spread of the virus locally by empowering communities through the short- and long-term sustainable relief measures.
As the Coronavirus pandemic grips countries across the world, the extended lockdowns in India have affected millions of people leaving the urban and rural poor without any livelihood options and access to any resources for their daily survival putting them on the brink of starvation. In this Global pandemic, while many of us have the privilege of working and staying safe at home, thousands of children, women and their families are going to bed hungry.
PRIDE India is helping the families in dire need across the Urban and Rural Maharashtra who are hit the hardest by the lockdown with food packets. These vulnerable communities include the tribals, children, elderly, disadvantaged women, HIV positive patients and the daily wage earners. Each Food Grain packet includes rice, wheat flour, lentils, sugar, salt, cooking oil, basic spices and bathing soaps sufficient to sustain a family of 5 for one month.
In order to ensure that these families remain safe indoors and are not victims of hunger and malnutrition please consider donating to feed a family so that together we do not let hunger take more lives! Fighting coronavirus is crucial. Every little help from you can create a huge impact in supporting underprivileged people and those in need. Please support the cause in your own capacity and share it with your friends and family.
