We have discussed the Homeless problem in Southend at several levels and been out on the streets to witness the needs of the Homeless. Our research has shown there is a need for a consistent Hot Food supply in Southend on Sea. There are already organisations providing some service but there is a need for a sustainable Hot Food supply to provide long term help to Homeless in Southend. We are consulting with existing local service providers to explore the precise needs and find the best options to take this project forward.
This process is nearing completion and a decision will be made on the direction we need to go.
This process has been much more complex than first imagined which is why is has taken more time than originally anticipated.
We will then move to the next stage and explore the possibility of a Grant to boost funding for the project to ensure its sustainability.
In the interim we have provided support to 2 local Charities working in this field that provide food to help those with serious needs.
