Help Survivors of Christian Genocide in Jos/Benue

Thank you for your generous support and for standing with families affected by displacement and violence. Your kindness made it possible for Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research Ltd/Gte to complete the first phase of this humanitarian project at Bethren Village IDP Camp in Masaka, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

During this phase, our team delivered food relief to displaced families struggling to meet their daily needs. The support included 60 bags of rice (5kg each), 48 bags of beans (3.5kg each), and 44 bags of garri (3.5kg each). These food items were carefully distributed to households living in the camp, bringing immediate relief to families facing hunger and uncertainty.

Bethren Village IDP Camp is home to more than 500 residents, many of whom are survivors of targeted violence. Forced to flee their homes with very few belongings, they now depend on humanitarian assistance while working to rebuild their lives. Despite the challenges they face, the residents welcomed our team with gratitude and hope.

The distribution exercise was carried out in an orderly and transparent manner with the support of camp leaders and volunteers. Families patiently waited for their turn, and each beneficiary received food supplies according to the distribution plan. Many expressed heartfelt appreciation, explaining that the assistance came at a time when they had little or no food left for their households.

Our visit also provided an opportunity to speak with families about their daily challenges. Beyond food, many continue to face shortages of clean water, healthcare, clothing, education, and livelihood opportunities. Children remain among the most affected, with many growing up in difficult conditions after being displaced from their communities.

This first phase marks an important step in our continued support for displaced families in the camp. While the food distributed will help meet immediate needs, much more assistance is still required. We remain committed to working with partners and supporters to reach more vulnerable families with food, healthcare, education, and other basic services.
