Key Developments – Last Three Months
Over the past three months, RACI continued strengthening civil society in Argentina and Latin America through research, strategic partnerships, capacity building, and innovative communication initiatives. Its efforts focused on addressing financial sustainability challenges, promoting the sector's legitimacy, expanding cooperation opportunities, and increasing public awareness of civil society's contributions.
World Giving Report 2026 – Charity InsightsIn October, RACI presented the findings of the World Giving Report 2026 – Charity Insights at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Led by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), the global research gathered responses from 5,483 organizations across 33 countries, including approximately 130 organizations in Argentina supported by RACI's local outreach.
The findings highlighted significant challenges: 73% of Argentine organizations identified financial sustainability as a major concern, while 39% reported having enough resources to continue operating for three months or less without new funding. The presentation brought together experts from Argentina and Mexico to discuss funding diversification, organizational resilience, and the need for more flexible and long-term support for civil society.
Launch of the Civil Society Narratives ObservatoryRACI launched the Civil Society Narratives Observatory, a regional initiative designed to monitor and analyze public narratives surrounding civil society organizations across Latin America. The platform identifies emerging trends, stigmatizing discourses, and potential threats to civic space, providing evidence to support informed advocacy and strategic responses.
Through this initiative, RACI aims to strengthen the legitimacy of civil society, anticipate restrictive developments, and encourage regional collaboration in defending the sector's role in democratic societies.
Strengthening International Cooperation PartnershipsRACI renewed its cooperation agreement with the Embassy of New Zealand in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, consolidating a partnership that has continued for 12 years. Through the Embassy's Cooperation Fund, RACI supports the administration of financial resources directed toward civil society organizations implementing community-based initiatives across Argentina.
This renewed partnership reinforces RACI's role in connecting international cooperation with local organizations and ensuring that resources reach initiatives addressing social and development challenges.
Capacity Building for Organizational SustainabilityIn partnership with EY Argentina, RACI continued implementing Sustainability Fundamentals, a training program designed to introduce civil society organizations to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The initiative provides practical tools to help organizations understand sustainability frameworks, incorporate ESG criteria into their operations, and begin developing organizational sustainability strategies.
The training also creates opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange, contributing to stronger institutional capacities across the sector.
Fifth Annual Social Inclusion AwardTogether with BBVA Argentina, RACI advanced the fifth edition of the Annual Social Inclusion Award, an initiative recognizing civil society projects that reduce inequalities and promote social inclusion. The award focuses on two areas: education and inclusive economic growth.
The initiative offers two awards of ARS 10 million each, alongside institutional support to help selected organizations strengthen and scale their projects. Through this partnership, RACI continues promoting opportunities for locally driven initiatives to expand their impact.
New Podcast: BuscadoresRACI launched Buscadores, a new podcast developed in partnership with Buscador Solidario to bring conversations about social impact and civic engagement to broader audiences beyond the nonprofit sector.
The first episode explores how technology, accessibility, innovation, and collaboration are transforming the ways people generate social impact.
Through this new communication initiative, RACI seeks to highlight the people behind social change, challenge traditional perceptions of civil society, and inspire greater public engagement.
