Dear Donors and Sponsors,
We are excited to share an update on the expansion of our work into Zambia. As you know, WOW Tanzania was founded through a unique international partnership between leaders from South Africa, the United States, France, and Zambia. After seeing meaningful success in Tanzania, we have partnered with three dedicated Zambians to establish WOW Zambia, with a focused mission of helping street-connected children transition into school and stable environments.
As we launched WOW Zambia in 2025, we encountered some structural differences compared to Tanzania. While our NGO registration in Tanzania allows us to operate nationally, Zambia requires registration by region. Initially, we registered in the Copperbelt Province where our CFO and Executive Director were based. However, as our work developed, we found stronger human resources and opportunities in Lusaka, leading our team to relocate and begin the process of updating our registration to reflect our new headquarters.
During this transition, we have remained active by fundraising and conducting interviews with families, schools, and children in need. Through this work, we have identified significant challenges, particularly in rural schools that lack basic resources such as desks. These gaps directly impact the quality of education, and addressing them is becoming a key focus area for WOW Zambia alongside our mission to support vulnerable children.
We are grateful for your continued support as we work diligently to establish WOW Zambia on a strong foundation. Despite the administrative processes, we are off to a promising start and look forward to sharing more progress with you soon. Thank you for partnering with us to bring hope and opportunity to children in need.
Warm regards,
