Summary

Ebola has reached Kenya, with 2 confirmed cases, 1 death, and 128 identified contacts as of October 14, 2026. Behind these numbers are families frightened of losing loved ones. With over 9,000 cases and 4,300 deaths in neighbouring DR Congo, the threat is real. We urgently need your help to provide protective supplies, health education, and emergency support to vulnerable families and frontline health workers. Your donation can help protect lives and prevent further infections.

Challenge

For families in Kenya, the fear of Ebola goes beyond falling sick. Parents worry about their children, healthcare workers risk exposure while caring for patients, and families under quarantine may struggle to find food and basic necessities. Misinformation, limited protective supplies, and delays in seeking medical care can put more lives at risk. Without timely support, vulnerable households may face isolation, financial hardship, and the heartbreaking possibility of losing loved ones.

Solution

Our team and volunteers in Kenya will visit homes to share Ebola prevention information and distribute hygiene kits. With health authority approval, we plan to establish a temporary isolation centre. Small grants to local organisations will fund village health education, soap and handwashing stations, food parcels for quarantined families, transport for suspected cases through authorised ambulance services, and protective supplies for community health workers in rural and underserved areas.

Long-Term Impact

This project aims to reach 50,000 people with Ebola prevention education, provide 10,000 families with hygiene kits, install 20 community handwashing stations, and train 50 community health volunteers. Small grants will help local organisations serve remote villages. After the emergency, trained volunteers and handwashing facilities can continue supporting disease prevention, early reporting of suspected cases, and safer communities.
